According to a report by Indeed, a matching and hiring platform, job postings in the IT sector have surged by 41.5% in Hyderabad and 24% in Bangalore, indicating these cities’ growing appeal as destinations for IT professionals.
Moreover, there has been a notable increase in the number of individuals exploring job opportunities. In Hyderabad, interest in job postings has spiked by 161%, while in Bangalore, it has risen by 80%.
Despite a national decrease of 3.6% in IT job opportunities, tech companies are displaying caution in their hiring practices amidst uncertain global economic conditions.
Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, noted, “Software and IT positions are highly sought after, reflecting both the appeal of IT jobs and the extensive skill specialization required for these roles, despite recent layoffs.”
To thrive in this competitive job market, job seekers are advised to focus on acquiring key skills. The most in-demand skills include analysis, agile methodologies, APIs, JavaScript, and SQL, based on job postings and clicks on Indeed’s platform between April 2023 and April 2024.
