Another road rage incident unfolded on Thanisandra Road in Bengaluru around 3:30 PM on Saturday, leaving a couple grappling with a hit-and-run and a lackluster police response. The couple took to social media to share their experience, shedding light on the frequent road rage issues in the city.
While driving, the couple faced a tense situation when a lorry attempted to merge from the right and collided with their vehicle, despite multiple honks meant to warn the driver. Their vehicle sustained significant damage as a result.
In their social media post, the husband recounted, “A lorry on the right was squeezing in close. I honked a couple of times to warn him, but instead of backing off, he slammed into us, leaving a huge dent in our car.”
The incident occurred directly in front of the Sampigehalli police station, prompting the couple to seek assistance. However, they were disappointed when officers claimed it was a traffic issue and could not help. The lorry driver refused to cooperate and vanished before the authorities could intervene.
Back at the traffic station, the couple explained their predicament to several officers, only to find the responsible officer unavailable. Hours passed with little progress, leaving them frustrated. Their main concern was the reckless driver still on the road, yet the police questioned why they hadn’t called emergency services despite the incident occurring near a police station.
The couple had taken a photo of the lorry but could not provide the driver’s contact information. When the traffic police checked the vehicle’s registration, it yielded no results, adding to their frustration.
This incident underscores ongoing concerns about road safety and the effectiveness of police responses to such cases, leaving the couple with more questions than answers.
