RPI Protesters Demand CBI Probe into PSI Suicide, Call for MLA Arrest and Justice
Bengaluru: Members of the Republican Party of India staged a protest at Freedom Park on Monday, demanding that the investigation into the suicide of Yadagiri police station PSI Parasurama be handed over to the CBI.
The protesters called for Congress MLA Channareddy Patila and his son Pampanagowda to be arrested immediately and for legal action to be taken. They also demanded that the accused be denied bail and that the government provide compensation for the PSI’s family and police protection. Additionally, they called for Parasurama’s wife, Shweta, to be given a government job.
The protesters insisted on justice, alleging that MLA Patila and his son had demanded a bribe for a transfer. They stressed the need for their arrest and justice.
Highlighting recent incidents affecting the Dalit community, including the suicide of Chandrasekhar from Valmiki Corporation and a recent case where a Dalit youth’s hand was severed in Malagala, Kanakapura, the protesters expressed concern for their community members. They urged the Chief Minister to convene a meeting with Dalit leaders and ensure the community’s protection.
