Bengaluru: Following a stern warning issued by AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal, Yeswanthpur MLA S T Somashekar postponed the meeting of like-minded MLAs which he had called at a private hotel today evening.
According to sources, JDS supremo H D Devegowda, who is in an Udupi resort, called Venugopal to express his displeasure against such a meeting. Venugopal, in turn, called Somashekar and warned him against holding the meeting and the latter conceded.
However, Somashekar informed that he has not cancelled the meeting but merely postponed it due to various reasons.
Confirming that the meeting will not be held, CLP leader Siddaramaiah said, “A few MLAs wanted to have dinner together but I advised against it. So, they decided to postpone their dinner,” he said.
