Bengaluru: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot alleged that the Centre has announced National Monetisation Pipeline without consultation in Parliament, and thus lacks transparency.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday September 1 Pilot said, “Now everything is going to be privatised. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stated that ownership will be with the Government of India. Nobody knows what would be the condition of these assets after the completion of the lease period. The government was entering into agreements with capitalists, which is likely to increase monopoly.”
Lauding the previous Congress Government he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been announcing Rs. 100 lakh crore investment for infrastructure over last three years, but whatever India is today, it is because of the decision former PM P. V. Narasimha Rao took in 1991, he said.
“Congress has decided to create awareness on NMP and launch protests against the Narendra Modi-led Government, he added.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar, Dinesh Gundu Rao and others were present.
