Sagarothara Kannadigaru is a secular, apolitical, and areligious forum that has gone out of the way to support Kannadigas during the pandemic.

The organisation officially launched its logo on August 12 in the presence of His Holiness Nirmalananda Swamiji.

The frontline leaders of Sagarothara Kannadigaru, who ideated the concept of uniting Kannadigas from around the world under one umbrella and worked for the successful co-ordination of this, despite them being in different locations needs to be appreciated. Some of the prominent leaders of Sagarothara Kannadigaru are:

President – Chandrashekar Lingadalli, UAE
Vice-President – Gopala Kulkarni, England UK
Organisational Secretary – Hemegowda Madhu, Italy
Joint Secretary – Ravi Mahadeva, Saudi Arabia

With the support and co-operation of the founding members in taking its tiny steps, they are all set to become the strong pillar of support for Kannadigas.

During the initial stages of the pandemic, a small programme called Sagarothara Kannadigarondige Samvadha was started with a virtual discussion with political leaders, social workers, community leaders, prominent officials, and pioneers from various industries to build confidence among the brethren themed ‘Nammavarigagi Navu’. This has become a vital forum in helping, motivating, and connecting Kannadigas across the globe.

Some of the other initiatives are:
– Arranging flights to Karnataka in coordination with the people’s representatives so that stranded Kannadigas can return home for emergency needs.
– Continuous followup and help to people who were on vacation and got stranded in India due to the lockdown and had to return.
-Updating the state government about the situation of the Kannadigas and their families overseas.
