Bengaluru: The forthcoming state elections will be a stepping stone for Congress to make a comeback at the Centre by ousting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019, said Sam Pitoda, former scientific advisor to the prime minister during UPA rule, thereby giving a lot of importance to assembly elections due on May 12.

Releasing the party manifesto for Bengaluru city, Sam Pitroda called upon the party workers to spread the faith that people always reposed in the party. With elections due in major states of North India, a victory in Karnataka can boost the morale of the party for it to storm back to power in 2019, he added.

“After victory, the government will deliver the promises to create 1 million jobs for the youth and give thrust to new generation entrepreneurs and start-ups”, Sam Pitroda assured.

Releasing the Bengaluru division manifesto being the chairman of the committee, Pitroda said the tech hub should solve the problems of the poor using innovation and modern technologies to outperform the Silicon Valley in the US.

Developed countries barring US and in the European Union could not replicate the Bengaluru model of development, he noted.

Party President Rahul Gandhi had formally released the Congress party manifesto at an event in the coastal city of Mangaluru on April 27.
