Bengaluru: Upset over the KPCC’s decision to not appoint an in-charge in Kundagol for the by-polls after forest minister Satish Jarakiholi’s remarks, major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar hit back, telling reporters that the former is a sahukar while he is an ordinary party worker. “My duty is to follow what the party asks me to do,” he said.
It can be recalled that Satish Jarakiholi expressed his resentment over DKShi’s appointment as in-charge of the Kundgol bypolls that will be held on May 19. He had asked if there was a shortfall in leaders from North Karnataka for the party to overlook them.
“I don’t know why allegations are hurled at me. I never asked the party to appoint me as the in-charge of the Kundagol by-election. Leaders from the North Karnataka region appointed for the by-elections in Mysuru region. Now unnecessary controversies are created,” DKShi said and asked why the Jarakiholis didn’t go to Ballari.
“If the party asks me to go to Kundagol I will go, as late C S Shivalli was my best friend,” he said.
Meanwhile, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao stated that, in Kundagol, the party will face the election under a mass leadership. “No in-charge will be appointed,” he said.
