The ready-to-eat (RTE) food industry in India is witnessing remarkable growth, driven by shifting lifestyles, urbanization, and increased disposable income. To address this demand surge, SATS Food Solutions India (SFSI), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd., has inaugurated its largest international food solutions facility in Bengaluru, India.

With a hefty investment of SGD 61 million, the SATS India Food Solutions (SFSI) facility is a cutting-edge frozen food manufacturing plant. It boasts culinary expertise and smart technology to produce delicious, nutritious food products adhering to the highest safety standards. Covering an expansive area of 221,000 sq. ft., the facility is strategically located near Kempegowda International Airport, ensuring efficient distribution.

Stanley Goh, CEO of SATS Food Solutions, considers the opening of this facility as a significant milestone in SATS’ Asian food production network. Leveraging their decades of experience and partnerships, SATS aims to replicate its successful food value chain model from Singapore to India. This endeavor will utilize SATS’ domain knowledge in culinary expertise, product design, food technology, and large-scale production to cater to both domestic and international markets.

The facility’s production capacity, including the new SFSI facility, will enable SATS to serve up to 750,000 meals per day, furthering its mission to connect and nourish communities. Notably, Bengaluru-based Swiggy, India’s leading food delivery platform, is among the first brands to join SATS’ customer network, signaling strong collaborative potential.

Sagar Dighe, Director and CEO of SATS Food Solutions India, underscores the company’s commitment to culinary excellence and food safety. The facility has obtained the India quality license (FSSAI) and is pursuing international certifications to ensure compliance with global standards. Implementing industry-proven technologies such as the Internet-of-Things (IoT), the facility enhances kitchen efficiencies while maintaining stringent food safety measures.

Moreover, the facility prioritizes sustainability, incorporating environmentally responsible building practices. Rainwater harvesting, water recycling systems, and energy-efficient technologies are employed to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint. Plans for solar panels and waste minimization further underscore SATS’ commitment to environmental stewardship.
