Scooter Collision Near Ramaiah Hospital Claims One Life, Another Injured
A tragic accident took place on Wednesday night near MS Ramaiah Hospital, where two scooters crashed head-on, resulting in one fatality and another individual sustaining injuries.
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old David Sengol, a postgraduate tenant in Mathikere. Originally hailing from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu, David was employed at a local laundry outlet in Bengaluru. At the time of the mishap, he was not wearing a helmet and suffered critical head trauma. Despite being rushed to MS Ramaiah Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries around midnight.
The second individual involved, 27-year-old Vijay from Sanjay Nagar, works as a food delivery agent. He sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical care.
Preliminary findings by Yeshwantpur traffic police suggest that the collision happened at approximately 10:30 pm near gate number 11 of the hospital. According to reports, both riders were speeding and riding recklessly, which led to them crashing into each other. The force of the impact hurled both onto the road.
A senior police official remarked that David’s life might have been saved had he been wearing a helmet. His wife and children in Dindigul have been notified of the unfortunate event. Following a postmortem on Thursday, David’s remains were handed over to his relatives.
Based on a complaint from David’s uncle, a case has been lodged against Vijay under sections 106 (negligent death) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation continues.
