Bengaluru: Security measures have been increased and the birdbaths removed at the Bonsai Park at Lalbagh Botanical Garden after one of the birdbaths fell on a boy killing him on Monday.
The park which remained closed on Tuesday saw the birdbaths being dismantled according to a senior officer from Lalbagh Horticulture Department. More security personnel have been deployed to cover the entire premises effectively.
It is said that Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) also issued a notice to the authorities to send an explanation and the exact cause for Monday’s incident. The department officials were also summoned by the Horticultrue Minister who sought detailed report about the same.
The boy’s parents will be compensated by the government, said Deputy Director of Horticulture, Dr M Jagadeesh.
