Bengaluru: The fear of Covid-19 has forced the authorities to implement all the rules strictly. In a decision which is expected to send a strong signal to all politicians, the security personnel in the Vidhana Soudha did not allow Member of Parliament from Mysuru-Kodagu Pratap Simha to enter the building as he was not wearing a mask.
According to sources, Simha tried to convince the security staff to excuse him and allow him to enter, but they refused.
Recently, many major departments of the Vikasa Soudha were shut after a woman employee in one of the departments tested positive for the disease. Therefore, the officials declined to entertain Simha’s request.
Later, the MP retrieved a mask from an official’s vehicle and entered the Vidhana Soudha.
It can be noted that the state government has made it compulsory for people to wear masks in Bengaluru.
