Bengaluru: While the police control room has been tracking the hoax calls regarding blasts in the city by terrorists, security has been tightened across the city, particularly, the crowded areas here on Saturday, April 27.
The precautionary measures are being taken despite the arrest of a retired Army personnel Sundaramurthy on charges of making hoax call to police control room.
The security checks have been tightened in the railway stations, bus stands and other crowded areas, along with the dog squads.
Based on the orders given by the intelligence sources to the deputy commissioner and security forces, the police department has been directed to conduct a thorough vigilance and send hourly reports to the police control room.
The security measures follow a previous experience of the police control room receiving terror attack calls considered hoax but which subsequently came true as serial bomb blasts in the city.
