Bengaluru: Artistes led by Dingri Nagaraj, Lakshmi Devi and others met DCM C N Ashwath Narayan and appealed him to give permission to resume film activities that would enable them to earn their livelihood. The Artistes informed the DCM that the shooting for various movies and serials has started with a number of precautionary measures including mandatory social distancing, sanitizers, and masks, temperature scans, etc in place. They assured the DCM that they will take all the precautions and follow the government guidelines.
Keeping in mind the safety of the senior citizens, the state government restricted their movements. They are not allowed to participate in the film shoots or visit places of religious worship or mingle with others freely – for their own safety. However, these restrictions have also affected the livelihoods of several film and theatre artistes too who fall in the category of senior citizens as defined by the Government.
DCM assured the team that he will discuss the issue with the CM BS Yediyurappa and his cabinet colleagues and come out with a solution soon.
