Bengaluru: Congress senior leaders from the state, including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao, Mallikarjuna Kharge will meet AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today to finalise the party candidates for the Lok Sabha election.
According to the sources, all these leaders will meet RaGA at AICC office today noon and discuss the party candidates list. The AICC screening committee, which will meet later in the day is expected to approve this list.
Confusion over Tumakuru: A senior Congress leader informed that as per the original agreement the Congress should have fielded its candidate in 21 seats, while the JDS should contest in seven seats. “However, AICC decision to leave Tumakuru Lok Sabha constituency to the JDS is surprising,” he said.
“But as per the indication we received, RaGa is expected to hold a meeting with JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda on the Tumakuru issue. Gowda is also in Delhi,” he said.
“DCM G Parameshwar has already done his best to convince HDD and HDK in this regard. We are expecting some positive developments,” he said.
