Bengaluru police have arrested three repeat offenders in a major vehicle theft case, seizing 25 two-wheelers valued at around ₹35 lakh. The culprits—Varun Kumar and Mohammed Jain, both aged 24 from JC Nagar, and their accomplice Manjunath, 26, from Haveri district—are now in custody.

Mahadevapura police reported that Varun and Mohammed stole a bike from Udhayanagar on March 6, shortly after the owner had left it parked outside his residence. Their luck ran out on April 16, when they were apprehended near Hope Farm Road while attempting to flee with another stolen vehicle.

During questioning, the duo confessed to selling a dozen of the stolen bikes to Manjunath, who then disposed of them in rural areas without any legal paperwork. Acting on the leads, police discovered the remaining stolen bikes abandoned on a vacant plot in Singayyanapalya on April 22.

To date, 22 owners have been identified, and efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining three. Investigations revealed that Varun and Mohammed were active in several parts of the city, including Mahadevapura, Whitefield, HSR Layout, HAL, JP Nagar, and even extended their operations to Mysuru and Anekal.

Despite facing earlier arrests, the duo continued their thefts after securing bail, usually targeting bikes parked on roadsides at night by snapping their hand locks.
