Bengaluru — Two habitual offenders, Ullas (24) from Begur and Kiran (24) from Yeshwantpur, were arrested by SJ Park police for a string of thefts across Karnataka. The duo first met while serving time at a juvenile home for earlier crimes, where they bonded over a shared knack for burglaries and vehicle thefts.

Their latest crime occurred on March 10, when they broke into a hardware store on SJP Road and stole ₹7,000. Using surveillance and field evidence, police tracked them to the Herohalli truck stand and arrested them recently.

Upon interrogation, the duo confessed to a spree of crimes—including five car thefts, five bike thefts, and a house burglary—spanning Kolar, Bengaluru Rural, and Tumakuru. Police have recovered three cars, six bikes, and jewellery worth ₹34 lakh from their possession.

Ullas, the more notorious of the two, already has 31 cases pending in multiple stations, while Kiran is named in nine cases.

Authorities have praised the swift action of the SJ Park police in cracking down on this inter-district theft network.
