A 21-year-old accused of multiple knife assaults in Indiranagar, Bengaluru, was taken into custody after evading authorities for a week. The suspect, Kadamba S, was arrested in Hoskote, about 60 km from the city, and brought to Indiranagar police station.
Law enforcement formed four teams to trace Kadamba, who has a history of violent crimes. On the night of February 8-9, he allegedly attacked five individuals, including street vendors, a security guard, a delivery worker, and a young man who refused to give him a ride. The victims suffered injuries to their hands and necks.
Kadamba, intoxicated at the time, also robbed a scooter and mobile phone before disappearing. He has been involved in criminal activities since turning 18, with multiple cases of theft and assault in Indiranagar and Ulsoor. His father was also a habitual offender, while his elder brother has six robbery and assault cases against him.
Fear spread among Indiranagar residents, with rumors of a serial killer on the loose. Police registered five FIRs and intensified their search, eventually locating Kadamba in rural Bengaluru.
His past offenses include mobile and bike theft, home burglary, and multiple assault cases. Authorities are investigating further links to his family, who have also been implicated in crimes.
Kadamba’s violent spree has reignited concerns about law enforcement gaps and the safety of Bengaluru’s upscale neighborhoods.
