Set Your Own House in Order First: DCM D K Shivakumar Tells H D Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar asked former Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to set his own house in order before pointing fingers at others.

Speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, he, quoting Basavanna, said, “Why are you trying to set the whole world right, you fix your own mind and body.” He was replying to reporters’ questions on Kumaraswamy’s visit to the Governor.

Asked about the statement of the Central Women’s Commission that no victims have filed a complaint in Prajwal Revanna’s case, he said, “I am happy that the Commission has commented on the case at least now. It is not my job to respond to this, the investigating officers will respond to this.”

Asked why SIT officials haven’t met any victims, he said that victims are facing threats from powerful politicians and it is in their interest that their identities are not revealed.

Replying to a query on Sam Pitroda’s statement on skin colour, he said, “India has achieved unity in diversity, let there be no doubt about Congress’ secular credentials,” he said.
