Bengaluru: A majority of the districts in the state received light shower on Monday early morning.
The entire South Karnataka and the Malnad districts reported rainfall.
“The rain started around 1 am and continued till 8 am. It was light rainfall,” informed sources in the state disaster management office..
Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagar, Mandya, Hassan, Mysuru, Kodagu, Davanagere, Chamarajanagar, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi witnessed rainfall.
The rainfall is expected to affect the standing crop in the fields as this is the harvest season. “But there may not be huge loss,” added authorities.
The rain is expected to bring down the temperature. Weather is cloudy in most of the districts across the state.
Weather reports had suggested that an upper air trough extending from Kerala to South Madhya Maharashtra, along with a Cyclonic Circulation persisting over the parts of South Madhya Maharashtra may lead to scattered to moderate rains and thundershowers in South Interior Karnataka and Kerala.
The weather reports have stated that the rains may persist for two days- March 2 and 3.
