Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s efforts to meet Union Home Minister and BJP national president Amit Shah on Friday failed. The CM waited till late in the evening to meet with Shah, however, the latter didn’t meet with him.
This has come as a shocker to the 16 disqualified MLAs, who travelled with BSY to New Delhi in the hopes of getting ministerial berths.
According to sources, Shah made it clear to Yediyurappa that he is not interested in meeting him. “Instead, he asked Yediyurappa to meet with the party’s working president J P Nadda to resolve the issues,” said sources close to BSY.
The rebel MLAs, on the other hand, have said that they will not allow BSY to allocate the plum portfolios such as major irrigation, transport, home etc. to any of the newly inducted ministers. They are also demanding that the Deputy Chief Minister’s post be given to their leader Ramesh Jarakiholi.
The BJP leaders, however, are not willing to accept these terms.
