Bengaluru: Namma Appaji canteen started by MLC TA Sharavana ten months ago in the premises of JP Bhavan, JDS state unit office on the Sheshadripuram road of the city where Raagi Mudde lunch was sold for just Rs.10 has been shut down.
According to the party sources, recently the BESCOM had disconnected the power supply as the canteen management failed to pay the electricity bill.
“TA Sharavana started this canteen to counter Indira canteen concept announced by the previous Congress government. But he lost interest in running the canteen after a few months. Even though there was no room rent for the canteen as it was housed in the JDS office, Sharavana was not able to foot the high cost. Eventually, the canteen has been shutdown,” informed a JDS leader.
TA Sharavana is not available for the reaction.
