Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister was rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after he complained of uneasiness and was shortly discharged. The CM soon left for Shivamogga to join AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi, who is arriving in state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa’s hometown in a few hours. As per sources, the CM was made to undergo some routine tests.
However, Tuesday being an important day, the CM had several programmes lined up for him.
AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Davanagere, Chitradurga district’s Holalkere and Tumkur and the CM is likely to accompany Gandhi.
The visits to these pockets are also extremely important to the Congress because Davangere and Holalkere are two strongholds of the Lingayats and so is Tumakuru because of Siddaganga Mutt situated here.
Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt celebrated his 111th birthday couple of days ago and both Gandhi and BJP National Chief Amit Shah paid a visit. The state Congress government accorded minority status to Lingayat community, which has been welcomed by most of the Lingayat Mutts. With over 85 lac voters, the Lingayats form a major voter base in the state.
