Bengaluru: This is the condition in which migrants from northeastern states of the country are living in Bengaluru. On Sunday, the city witnessed a heart-wrenching incident in which the mother of a Sikkimese youth failed to turn up for his final rites as she didn’t have any money to travel all the way from Sikkim to the city. The final rites were performed by a relative.
Lakshman Limbo (18), a youth from Sikkim, had arrived at Bengaluru eight days ago. He joined the Black and White Daba in Chikkanahalli village near Banavara as an assistant cook and on Saturday night, he committed suicide.
A case in this regard was registered at Soladevanahalli police station.
As his mother is very poor and was not in a position to travel to Bengaluru even by train, one of his distant relatives performed his final rites after getting the mother’s consent.
