Bengaluru: Officials from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) have arrested Naveen Gowda and Chetan on charges of sharing obscene videos allegedly found on a pen drive purportedly belonging to MP Prajwal Revanna.
The arrest comes amidst a legal backdrop, with the accused filing for anticipatory bail, a matter currently under consideration by the High Court. However, in a dramatic turn of events, both individuals were apprehended by SIT officials upon their arrival at the court.
The arrest follows a complaint lodged by Purnachandra at the Hassan CEN station, alleging that Naveen Gowda and others had manipulated photos and videos of MP Prajwal Revanna, subsequently distributing them via a pen drive and CD. An FIR was registered in response to the complaint. The delay in the arrest of the accused had drawn criticism from various quarters, including JDS state president HD Kumaraswamy.
