Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing the journalist, activist Gauri Lankesh murder case is slowly fining it difficult to trace the accused. After investigating right wing, naxal and the possible real estate angles, now the SIT has started probe in to the various Facebook and Twitter posts of Gauri, hoping it can get some clue.
According to the sources, even after subjecting hundreds of people to investigation, the SIT has failed to move closer in the case. “One of the major obstacles is the poor quality of CCTV images captured from the house of Gauri Lankesh. She had installed analog CCTV cameras which are of substandard quality. So we could not able to get the clear picture of the murder,” said SIT sources.
Meanwhile, statement of rationalist seer Veerabhadra Chennamalla Swamiji of the Nidumamidi that he will be the next target of right-wing activists has created a flutter. According to the state home department officials, two gunmen have been provided to the swamiji. On the other hand, despite state government providing security to scholar M Chidananda Murthy fearing he may be attacked, he has rejected security saying he is not facing any threat.
