Bengaluru : Parappana Agrahara police arrested six adbuctors demanding Rs 1 Crore ransom from the Bosch employee’s wife after abducting him on April 8. Refusal to offer financial help to one of the accused is said to be the reason behind abducting.
Satyavelachari (24), Yehswanth Yadav (20), Vinod Kumar (21), Sanjay Reddy (20), Shekhar (20) and Jagannath (23) were arrested by police in connection with the incident. All are residents of Kolar except Satyavelachari, who is a resident of Arakere in Bengaluru.
Accused Sathyavelachari alias Sathya knew Shivakumar , an employee of Bosch well. Shivakumar had sold some of his properties in Bengaluru recently and Sathya was aware of most of the deals. He sought financial assistance from Shivakumar to tide over his personal crisis. When Shivakumar refused, a plot was hatched to abduct Shivakumar for ransom.
In the pretext of availing help from Shivakumar, Sathya managed to drag the former from his house and managed to abduct him taking help from accomplices on April 8 from JP Nagar area of the city. Meanhwile, the abductors called Shivkumar’s wife Sudha on April 9th morning and demanded Rs 1 crore ransom. They took Shivakumar to Kolar via Mulbagal,Srinivaspura and other towns.
Sudha attempting to trace her husband was shocked when she received the call for ransom and lodged a complaint. Police registered a complaint 123/18 under section 364 (A) of IPC. S-E division ACP Boralingaiah formed 6 teams to nab the accused.
Accordingly police went on the hunt looking for traces at all check points leading to Kolar. Abductors learnt of the police complaint and called Sudha again threatening to kill her husband. Before they could act further, police managed to nab Yeshwanth Yadav, who spilled the beans on the rest.
Police also seized an Innova car used in the operation by the abductors.
