Six children drowned while leaving the Ganesha idol in a pond in KGF

Bengaluru: Six children including four girl children drowned in a lake in Maradagatta village of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) taluk in Kolar district.

The incident happened when these six children trying to leave the clay Ganesha idol they had prepared.

According to the police among the six deceased four are girl children. Two are boys

The deceased are identified as Teja (6), Dhanush (7), Vaishnavi (6), Rohita, Rakshita and Veena (all are 7 years old).

The bodies are shifted to the KGF general hospital for the postmortem.

According to the police, 8 kids were playing near the pond as today was a holiday for the schools. As two survived are small kids, they didn’t get down to the pond to leave the Ganesha idol.
