Bengaluru: The KG Halli police have secured a six-day police custody of Irshad Khan, who is accused of staging sexual harassment of his sister-in-law in a complicated bid for marriage by defaming her. The police produced him in court on Monday.
The police said questioning of the accused from Tuesday will lead to determining the exact nature of involvement of the victim following which they can contemplate criminal action against her for perjury (giving false statement or complaint to the police).
It may be recalled that accused was arrested on Sunday. The police found that Khan, a sales executive at a private firm, was in a relationship with Laila, the 25-year-old sister of his wife. He had married three years ago and has a three-year-old child. The family lives in KG Halli. Laila lives with them.
