BENGALURU: Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) has welcomed six new tiger cubs, as two tigresses gave birth in February. With these additions, the park’s tiger population has risen to 19.
Six-year-old tigress Hima delivered her second litter of four cubs on February 14, following her first litter in June 2024. Meanwhile, eight-year-old Aranya gave birth to her first litter of two cubs on February 16. The father of Aranya’s cubs is white tiger Veer, who was brought from Chennai’s Arignar Anna Zoological Park under the Animal Exchange Programme.
BBP officials confirmed that both tigresses and their cubs are in good health and receiving proper care.
