Bengaluru – A 24-year-old software engineer, Yagnik from Hassan district, was discovered dead in his hotel room near Electronic City on Tuesday afternoon. The police suspect suicide, with indications pointing towards helium gas inhalation as the method.
Yagnik, who was staying at the Royal Inn Hotel on Neeladri Road while preparing for his M.Tech examinations, missed his scheduled checkout on Tuesday morning. Hotel staff, unable to reach him by phone, used a master key to enter his room, where they found him unconscious. They promptly alerted the Electronic City police.
Initial findings suggest Yagnik may have taken his own life by inhaling helium gas. Police are investigating this theory, noting that Yagnik had previously searched online for painless suicide methods.
Friends of Yagnik revealed he had been struggling with depression and expressed feelings of hopelessness recently. They observed significant changes in his behavior since his return to Bengaluru for his exams.
The ongoing investigation aims to piece together the circumstances leading to his tragic death, with authorities examining Yagnik’s recent online activity and personal struggles.
