Bengaluru: A soldier from Dharwad, who was married just six months ago has been martyred in Kashmir in a terrorist attack.
Manjunatha Hanumantappa Olekar, 27, a resident of Inam Veerapura of the Hubballi taluk in Dharwad district is the soldier who martyred in Kashmir on Tuesday evening in a gunfight.
He has been serving the Indian army since last seven years. He is serving the MEG in Kashmir.
According to the police, the details of the incident will be made public by the Indian army soon.
“His mortal remains are expected to reach Dharwad on Thursday,” said authorities.
