Bengaluru: As the ruling coalition continued to debate the vote of confidence in the House, Speaker Ramesh Kumar intervened and asked them to wind up and go ahead with the trust vote. The ruling coalition, however, protested the Speaker’s direction.
It can be recalled that Governor Vajubha Vala had extended the deadline for the trust vote to 6 PM today.
As the time drew closer to 6 PM, the Speaker directed the House to wind up the discussion and move the trust vote. To this, the ruling coalition MLAs protested saying that there were still members who are yet to take the floor.
Reacting to this, the Speaker said that he would give everyone a chance to speak, however, he told them to finish the discussion on one hour as he is willing to stay only till 7.30 PM.
CM HDK interjected on the discussion saying that he has stated that he wanted to make his concluding statements once all the MLAs were done talking. He then asked the Speaker to conclude the discussion on Monday.
To this, BJP MLA Madhuswamy said that the MLAs can discuss what they want today. “We will wait,” he said.
