Bengaluru: The State Government has ordered an inquiry over the alleged special treatment at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in City. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Communication, Logistics and Modernisation) S. Murugan has been appointed to probe the issue.

The order states that the Director-General of Police (DGP) (Prisons) need to be updated on the inquiry progress and given the final report.

The inquiry comes on the heels of a viral video that showed history-sheeter out on bail now talking about irregularities in the prison. Following this it can be recalled here that Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had promised to conduct a detailed probe. The special treatment inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prisons first came to light when IPS officer D. Roopa had alleged that AIADMK leader V. K. Sasikala was given special facilities in the prison.
