Bengaluru: A tragic road accident in Edehalli, Nelamangala, claimed the life of a 55-year-old security guard and left nine others injured when a speeding car rammed into an autorickshaw on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at 7:40 AM when an autorickshaw, carrying eight passengers, slowed near a U-turn. A car traveling at high speed from Andhra Pradesh rear-ended the auto before crashing into a truck. The deceased, A. Eeranna, hailed from Pemmanahalli in North Karnataka and was among the autorickshaw passengers.
Injured Include MBBS Student in Critical Condition
The autorickshaw driver, Naveen Kumar, and seven passengers sustained injuries, including 20-year-old Nutan, a first-year MBBS student from a private college in T. Begur, whose condition is critical. The car’s driver, Omkar Sai, is also hospitalized.
Ongoing Investigations
Police are investigating the crash to determine the exact sequence of events. This incident follows another tragic accident on December 21, where six people died after a container truck fell on their car. Authorities are yet to conclude whether a blue car, reportedly stopping abruptly, contributed to that accident.
These incidents underscore the importance of strict adherence to speed limits and cautious driving, especially at high-traffic junctions.
