Bengaluru: In an unfortunate incident, a cabin crew member of a Mangaluru-bound Spicejet flight was injured when she fell during the pushback of the Bombardier Q400 aircraft at the Kempegowda International Airport on Friday, August 23.
Pushback is an airport procedure where an aircraft is pushed backwards away from an airport gate by special, low-profile vehicles called pushback tractors or tugs.
According to sources, the crew member of flight SG 1035 operating on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route sustained minor injuries. Immediately after the incident, the aircraft was taken back to the bay where the crew member was replaced and the same flight departed for its destination at 8.45 AM.
After an examination, the doctor declared the crew member fit to fly. However, she was given rest and another personnel took her place on the flight, sources from SpiceJet informed.
