Bengaluru: Actress Sruthi Hariharan who has levelled charges of sexual harassment against South Indian actor Arjun Sarja, has recorded her statement regarding the case in front of a magistrate on Wednesday, November 7. This statement of hers comes two days after actor Arjun appeared before Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park police for questioning.
Sruthi had lodged a complaint against Arjun accusing him of sexually harassing her on the sets of the movie Vismaya. Arjun had denied all the allegations and also moved the state High Court on October 27, seeking protection from arrest. In response to this appeal, the High Court has directed the police to not arrest Arjun until November 14.
The Karnataka State Commission for Women has also taken an interest in the case and they have taken a suo motu cognisance of the complaints made by Sruthi.
Prior to all this, Sruthi had posted a long Facebook message giving out details of the alleged sexual assault that took place against her by Arjun during their rehearsals on the set of Vismaya.
She also stated that this was not an isolated incident as the harassment continued with Arjun suggesting changes in the scenes which were inappropriate.
