Bengaluru: Owing to the alleged carelessness by the evaluators, a student who was supposed to top the school, had failed in the SSLC examinations held this year.
Shalini, daughter of a mason, had failed despite getting a total of 509 marks. When she applied for a revaluation, the mistakes in evaluation came to light.
After revaluation, Shalini emerged the topper in her school at Nagavara.
The evaluators had not considered 75 marks from her second language Kannada answer sheet. Even though she had used 17 sheets to write the paper she was given only 17 marks. Shalini was expecting good marks but when she failed, she had gone into mental depression.
Seeing her state, her parents obtained a copy of her answer sheet and discovered the irresponsibility on the part of the evaluators.
