State announces list of 64 names for prestigious Rajyotsava Award

Bengaluru: The list of people who will be honoured with the prestigious Rajyotsava Award for their services in various fields, has been announced. Minister for Kannada and Culture Department C T Ravi, on Monday, October 28, made the announcement in this regard. According to the list, 64 people will be honoured this year.

According to reports, the awards will be conferred by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on November 1, Karnataka Rajyotsava, during a ceremony at the Banquet Hall of the Vidhana Soudha.

The list of names and categories for the award are; Literature – Dr Manjappa Shetty Masagali, Prof B Rajashekarappa, Chandrakanth Karadalli and Dr Saraswathi Chimmalagi. For Theatre – Parashuram Siddi, Pal Sudarshan, Hooli Shekhar, N Shivalingaiah, Dr H K Ramanath and Bhargavi Narayan. For Music – Chote Rahmath Khan, Nagavalli Nagaraj, Dr Muddu Mohan and Srinivasa Udupa. For Folk Art – Neelgararu Doddagavibasappa, Holabasaiah Dundaiah Sambalad, Bheem Singh Sakaram Rathod, Usman Saab Khadar Saab, Kotresha Chennabasappa Kotrappanavar and K R Hosalayya. For Sculpture – V V Deshpande and K Jnaneshwar. For Painting – Ramesh Rao and Mohan Sitanoor. For Sports – Vishwanath, Bhaskar Ganiga, Chenada A Kuttappa and Nandita Naganagoudar. For Yoga – Srimathi Vanithakka and Kumari Khushi. For Yakshagana – Dr. Shridhara Bhandary. For Bayalata – Y Mallappa Gavayi. For Films – Shailashree. For TV – Jayakumar Kodaganura. For Education- N R Gunjaal, Prof T Shivanna, Dr K Chidananda Gowda and Dr. Gururaj Karajagi. Under Miscellaneous – Dr Vijay Sankeshwar, N T Shantha Gangadhar, Dr Channaveera Shivacharya, LT Gen BNBM Prasad, Dr N Someshwar and K Prakash Shetty. For Journalism – B V Mallikarjunaiah. For Co-operation – Ramesh Vaidya. For Social service – S G Bharathi and Kattige Channappa. For Agriculture – B K Deva Rao and Vishveshwar Sajjan. For Environment – Saalumarada Veerachar and Shivaji Chatrappa Kagnekar. For Organisations/groups – Prabhat Art International and Sri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samiti, Hanumanthapura. For Medicine – Dr Hanumantharaya Pandit, Dr Anjanappa, Dr Nagarathna, Dr G T Subhash and Dr Krishna Prasad. For Judiciary – Kumar N. For Expats – Jayavanth Mannoli, Gangadhar Bevinakoppa and B G Mohandas. For Cottage industry – Navaratna Indukumar. For Literary criticism – K V Subramanyam.
