State directs farmers to provide resting period for bulls between 12 noon to 3 pm

Bengaluru: The state animal husbandry department directed the farmers and bullock cart owners not to make the bulls toil hard between 12 noon and 3 pm keeping in mind the scorching sun and heat wave.

According to the directions issued by the department, all the stakeholders have been directed to ensure enough rest for the bulls during the said period. They have also been directed to provide adequate water and fodder.

The department warned legal action against those who violate the said rule and directed the police department to initiate action under the provisions of cruelty against animals in case of violation.

According to the sources in the department, this new rule will be implemented through the respective SPs in each district.
