State EC relaxes model code of conduct for govt activities

Bengaluru: The State Chief Election Commissioner Sanjiv Kumar accepted a plea that was submitted by the state government, here on Saturday, May 4, to invoke a provision that relaxes the election model code of conduct in some areas of government activities.

While accepting the plea, Sanjiv Kumar has said that the works on developmental projects, service sector projects, basic amenities and tender process could be carried out.

The appointment process for the constitutional bodies, corporations and other government-owned sectors is allowed to be carried out.

Transfer and land allotment process are also allowed now following the relaxation in election model code of conduct.
