Bengaluru: The state government brought down the Covid-19 test rates in the private hospitals.
A decision in this regard was taken after a discussion between medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar and CM BS Yediyurappa.
The rates have been slashed to Rs.3,000 from Rs.4,500 for those who visit directly. It will be Rs.2,000 for those referred by the public authorities.
The matter came up for discussion after persistent complaints on the unaffordable price for COVID-19 tests.
In the meeting, the CM also agreed to release Rs.500 crores towards the improvement in the facilities in the government hospitals.
It has been decided to set up oxygen plants in all the major government health facilities.
