State govt appoints special team to investigate IPS officer’s death

Bengaluru: The state government has decided, here on Saturday, April 20, to handover the IPS officer Late Madhukar Shetty’s death case to judicial inquiry.

As the speculations broke out pertaining to his sudden demise, the government has decided to go for a judicial inquiry, for which it has now set a special team of investigators to investigate into his death case.

The team is chaired by Founder of Narayana Hrudayalaya Dr. Deviprasad Shetty. Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research centre’s Dr. Sitharam Bhat, Head of the Department (HoD) of Virology from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Dr. V Ravi, Dr. Nagaraj from Cardiovascular department of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases and directors from Directorate Of Medical Education are appointed as convenors.

The state government has directed the team of special investigators to have reports made available within two weeks’ time.

Madhukar Shetty had passed away on December 25, reportedly due to swine flu.
