State mourns as it bids adieu to Ambareesh

Bengaluru: Actor-politician Ambareesh was cremated in the Kanteerava Studio which is situated in the Nandhini Layout of the city, here on Monday, November 26.

His mortal remains were brought in the Sanjaveeni ambulance after it reached the HAL airport from Mandya district in the noon to Kanteerava Stadium.

The body was then taken in a decorated truck along a 13-km stretch from Kanteerava Stadium to Kanteerava Studio.

Meantime, Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, K C Venugopal, KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao, actors Darshan, Ravi Shankar, Dodanna, Saadu Kokila, singer Vijay Prakash and many others paid their last respects.

After the body was brought to Kanteerava studio, all his well-wishers, close ones and family members were given a wreath to place it in front of his mortal remains.

The last rites were performed by purohits (priests), who are also associates of a prominent astrologer Pandit Bhanu Prakash Sharma.

Ambareesh’s son Abhishek Gowda gave the flames to his mortal remains.

Thousands of people had gathered across the streets as well as around the Kanteerava Studio to get the last glimpse of their beloved hero and a leader.
