State reports 12 COVID deaths, 210 new cases; Tally is 7944, death toll is 114

Bengaluru: As many as 210 people tested positive for COVID-29 and 12 people succumbed taking the state’s tally to 7944 and death toll to 114.

Of the 12 deaths, eight are from Bengaluru Urban and one each are from Koppal, Bidar, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi.

Their details according to the state health department are:

Patient 3912, a 57-year-old man from the Bengaluru Urban district is the first fatality. He recently returned from Bihar and was admitted on June 3 at a designated hospital in Bengaluru Urban. He died on June 6.

Patient 5340: A 58-year-old male resident of the Bengaluru Urban district with a history of inter-district travel to Ballari is the second fatality. He had a known case of DM and HTN. He was admitted on June 6 at a designated hospital and died on June 13.

Patient 6004: A 39-year-old man from the Bengaluru Urban district, diagnosed with an ILI, had complained of fever and cough. He was admitted on June 7 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 14.

Patient 6027: A 40-year-old woman from the Bengaluru Urban district was admitted on June 8 at a designated hospital in the district. She died on the same day.

Patient 6570: A 68-year-old man from the Bengaluru Urban district was diagnosed with SARI, complained of fever. He had a known case of CHD and CKD. He was admitted on June 11 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 13.

Patient 7105: A 50-year-old woman from the Koppala district, who was diagnosed as SARI, complained of cough and breathlessness. He was admitted on June 13 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 17.

Patient 7183: A 74-year-old woman from the Bengaluru Urban district with a known case of DM and HTN, was admitted on June 14 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 15.

Patient 7186: A 65-year-old woman from the Bengaluru Urban district, complained of fever, and had a known case of HTN. She was admitted on June 13 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 17.

Patient 7250: A 31-year-old man from the Bengaluru Urban district was diagnosed with an ILI. He complained of cough and was admitted on June 13 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 18.

Patient 7776: A 55-year-old man from a containment zone in the Bidar district had complained of breathlessness. He was admitted on June 8 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 17.

Patient 7835: A 66-year-old woman from the Vijayapura district was diagnosed with SARI and complained of fever. He had a known case of DM, HTN and IHD. She was admitted on June 15 at a designated hospital in the district and died on June 17.

Patient 7907: A 50-year-old man from the Kalaburagi district, who complained of cough and Breathlessness, with known case of COPD was admitted on June 13 at a designated hospital in Kalaburagi. He died on June 15.

The break-up of the other cases are: Ballari (48), Kalaburagi (48), Dakshina Kannada (23), Ramanagara (21), Bengaluru Urban (17), Yadagir (8), Mandya (7), Bidar (6), Gadag (5), Raichur (4), Hassana (4), Dharwad (4), Davanagere (3), Chikkamagaluru (3), Vijayapura (2), Uttara Kannada (2), Mysuru (2), Bagalakote (1), Shivamogga (1), and Koppal (1).

Twenty-one of the 23 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in the Dakshina Kannada district recently returned from the UAE. The other two are contacts of Patient 6618. Of the 23 patients, 21 are men and two are women.

As many as 179 patients were discharged today. There are a total of 2843 active COVID-19 cases in the state and there are 73 patients in the ICU. Additionally, four patients died of non-COVID causes.
