State reports five COVID deaths, 249 new cases; Tally now 9399, death toll is 142

Bengaluru: As many as 249 people tested positive for COVID-29 and five people succumbed taking the state’s tally to 9399 and death toll to 142.

Of the five deaths, three are from Bengaluru Urban and one each are from Ballari and Ramanagar.

Their details according to the state health department are:

The break-up of the other cases: Bengaluru Urban (126), Kalaburagi (27), Vijayapura (15), Udupi (14), Dakshina Kannada (12), Davanagere (9), Uttara Kannada (6), Bagalkot (6), Bidar (5), Chikkamagaluru (5), Dharwad (4), Bengaluru Rural (4), Ramanagar (3), Chitradurga (2), Kolar (2), Tumakuru (2), Kodagu (2), and one each from Yadagir, Mysuru, Chikkaballapura, Gadag, and Koppala.

As many as 111 patients were discharged today, bringing the total number of discharges to 5730. There are a total of 3523 active COVID-19 cases in the state and there are 80 patients in the ICU. Additionally, four patients died of non-COVID causes.
