Bengaluru: Janagraha Aandolan Vedike staged a protest in front of the homes of the MLA’s and ministers across Karnataka demanding life-saving measures and a financial package to support the livelihoods of people.
“Four protests have been held so far in the last three months for the comprehensive package for the poor and three letters sent to the chief minister. It is the high time the government must come forward to assist the people,” said BT Lalita Nayak.
The delegation met the minister of state for the housing department V. Somanna and filed an affidavit.
Noor Shridhar, state president of Karnataka Janashakti, also spoke on this occasion.
The movement has received an unprecedented response from the people of the state. Similar protests were staged in Udupi, Shivamogga, Vijayapura, Vijayanagara, Mandya, Shivamogga. Despite the fear of Covid-19 and lockdown restrictions, people in large numbers have taken to the streets to put forth their demands to the government.
