State Women’s Commission warns politicos against women abuse

Bengaluru: The Chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, Nagalakshmi warned the political leaders, here on Monday, April 8, with regard to usage of derogatory and abusive words against the women Lok Sabha candidates.

Speaking to media, she said, “We are observing that the leaders across the political fraternity are using abusive and derogatory language towards women candidates who are contesting the Lok Sabha election. We will take stringent action against such leaders and will file a suo moto case against them.”

“We have received a lot of complaints against the Chinese-invented video making app ‘TikTok’, in which there are videos made, abusing and speaking lowly about women. Based on this, we have filed a case and submitted the same to the court in order to ban the app”, she added.
