Bengaluru: The BBMP and the state government, which are under fire over poor COVID-19 management in the city of late has decided to start random testing of 7,500 samples per day.
The swab collection will be done at the buffer and contained zones.
As part of the strategy, the BBMP has hired 30 swab collection vehicles. Adding to this, the swab collection will be done at all the fever clinics of the BBMP.
According to the sources, the BBMP is under immense pressure after several Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) patients have tested positive for COVID 19.
This has resulted in allegations that COVID 19 is spreading at the community level. However, the state government has denied this.
