Bengaluru: The First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Wednesday granted bail to Geethavishnu, the grandson of liquor baron late D.K. Audikeshavulu.

The police produced him in court to seek custody to question him about the 110 grams of marijuana reportedly found in his car.

The 27-year-old was on September 28 involved in an accident in which six people, including three children, were injured, at South End Circle. A day later, he escaped from Mallya Hospital, which is owned by his family.

The public prosecutor submitted that Vishnu was not cooperating with the investigation when he was in the hospital and that he had escaped from police custody. The CCB suspect him of being associated with a drug racket, and sought his custody for further investigation.

However, the defence counsel submitted that all the three cases are bailable offences and that his client is ready to co-operate with the investigation, which was the reason for surrendering to the police.

Hearing the submission, Vishnu was granted bail in all the three case: negligent driving causing injuries, Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act and escaping from police custody. The bail came with a Rs. 25,000 bond.

The CCB has summoned Vishnu, along with eight others, for questioning on Thursday.
